Frequently Asked Question
How does this work? Does Luxe Scoopers come weekly? Can I cancel anytime? This page has the answers to common questions!
How much of the yard is cleaned?
You are the boss. We will scoop any part of your yard where your dog has access to with your permission. Most clients request primarily the back yard. Additional areas of the yard might increase the service fee if it is a large area.
Can my dog(s) hang out while you clean?
We LOVE dogs! While we are working in the yard we need to be able to focus on the task at hand as well as be confident we can enter and leave gate without the risk of your dog escaping. We request your dog be secured during our scooping visit. We ALSO want your experience with us to be convenient and frictionless, so let’s talk options when we meet!
Will my dogs be safe?
Absolutely! We send you a text when we’re enroute to your home. Once the job is done, we send a photo of your securely locked gate for your peace of mind. Additionally, we maintain the highest hygiene standards by using a fresh bag for each yard and thoroughly sanitizing our equipment and shoes/boots with antiviral and antibacterial cleansers after every visit. These are pet and plant safe cleaners.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No contracts! You have the flexibility to start, pause or stop the service at any time. Just give us a heads up at least 48 hours before the next scheduled service.
Is not picking up dog poop a bad thing?
Yes. Firstly, dog waste is not a fertilizer. It can actually damage your lawn and vegetable garden. Additionally, it acts as an environmental pollutant and poses health risks to dogs themselves. Some HOAs and neighborhood covenants/CC&Rs often mandate that residents clean up pet waste in their own yards.
Isn't the problem basically solved if the lawn mower runs the piles over? It basically disappears.
Oh if this were only true! We could reduce our time and equipment substantially. This spreads the waste even more. It also increases the potential for contamination around the yard and bacteria being tracked back into your house. Make no mistake, your dogs WILL track miniscule pieces of waste back into the house. Yes, you and your kids will also bring microscopic pieces into your home as well.
Do you scoop in all weather?
We operate in most weather conditions year-round. In cases of extreme weather (hail, ice, etc.), we may reschedule a visit and return on your next scheduled day to perform “Double Doody” service.
Can I choose my service day or time?
Luxe Scoopers is route based and not on-demand based. Our efficient route-based scheduling cannot grant specific days or times. If we do have multiple openings, we will ask for your preference. You’ll receive a text alert before arrival. We do offer our VIP members requested, special days.
Will you come into my home to scoop or to access the back yard?
No. For safety and insurance reasons, we only access your yard through exterior gates. Our services are limited to outdoor only.
My dog is always friendly. Why did you skip my yard just because he barked at you?
Your dog’s natural instinct is to protect his family and his territory. We are strangers to them and carrying odd, rather large tools. A protective dog is normal, which is why we request your dog be secured during our visit.
It does not look like you service my area. Do you make exceptions?
While we stick to a tight route for efficiency and exceptional service, we would love to earn your business if we find a day and time for our technician to reach you. Just shoot us a text/call and we can talk details.
Do you clean your equipment between homes?
Absolutely! All tools and boots/shoes are sanitized between every yard using WYSIWASH or Best Shot 256—safe, pet-friendly disinfectants.
My yard has some hidden piles due to tall grass, leaves, debris. Is this a problem?
We ask clients to maintain a clean, clear yard. Excessive leaves, branches, or toys may cause us to miss waste. We will do our best in a normal scooping session timeframe. If piles/pieces are missed under these conditions, an additional fee will be charged if you request a re-scoop visit. The other option will be to return on the next scheduled day.
What if my yard has been maintained, short grass, no debris and I see a missed pile?
If you’re not satisfied, please notify us within 24 hours of service. We’ll schedule a complimentary re-scoop to ensure satisfaction.
Workers sometimes leave my gate open. Will you be careful to shut my gate?
100% ! We provide photo proof of your latched gate as part of our safety protocol. We will also gently push/pull to ensure it is latched. However, clients are responsible for maintaining functioning gates and latches.
Will you scoop if my dog is aggressive or loose in the yard?
We request your dog be secured before we enter the yard. If a pet poses a safety concern and in yard, we will call and possibly knock on the front door. Even a super friendly dog can reduce our efficiency and effectiveness in the yard and also be a potential “escapee” if we need to go in and out of the gate for equipment. Due to specific conditions, we might have to reschedule our visit. Refunds are not an option for this type of scenario, but we will be diligent to reach you before skipping your service.
What if I request a skip because we are out of town and/or the dog has not been in the yard at all since last scooping visit?
If you notify us 48 hours before our visit we can take you off the route for the week and refund a scooping session. A side-note to this would be if, when we do return for the next scoop, and we need to spend an above average time in your yard due to extra piles, there might be an additional fee.
Why was I charged a full month if you cancelled a service day (weather, emergency, etc...)?
One of our key pillars at Luxe Scoopers is consistency. As with life, there are unforeseen circumstances OR dangerous Texas weather. If we miss a visit and cannot reschedule, we will be in your yard twice as long the following week performing “Double Doody”. This balances out the need for refunds or altering of invoices.
Do you haul away the waste? Is it an option if I want it?
Our standard practice is to deposit the waste where the city intends for it to go – in your own bin. This has been requested by the city for a few reasons. We will double bag the waste to reduce odor. For a nominal fee per visit we will haul-away the waste as there is a cost to us for this deposit landfill/approved bin. If you are a VIP member haul-away is included.
I have a LOT of piles in my back yard! I know this will be a special fee for this but do I get charged for haul-away services too?
Large initial scoops or one-time scoops include haul-away service.
How does billing work?
We require a credit/debit card to be on file. We pre-bill on the 1st of each month using our secure Sweep and Go processing system. The monthly charge is a fixed “Average Monthly Rate” based on your cleanup frequency over the year. We do not offer weekly or post-service billing options.
